An auspicious beginning foretells an auspicious end. So Vedanta texts begin with an invocatory prayer. We invoke blessings and the Grace of the Lord and the Guru. It is only due to his grace that the writing, speaking , listening or reading of any text is possible and with his grace alone would the text reach its culmination, its ultimate purpose being the realization of the truth. It inspires us to open the doors of our inherent creative potential.
